They need to have beard 😊🤔. Forex has a lot of people so called GURUS out there, and 98% of them are scammers. And if you are not careful you will fall into the hands of scammers. lets dig in..

So what is makes one a good mentor for your trading journey

First understand and be very clear of what you want, it is best (my recommendation) to start the basic by yourself. 

Understanding the basic is not so hard it will give you a starting point of what road you want to use to this giga industry. Noise about forex market is a lot out there everyone want to be a mentor. 

Second you must research,the road you want to follow,who is also using it. Let say you want to be a price action trader, who is using it at its best and he can teach you the way you can understand. The hardest part here is to find someone WHO CAN TEACH. There is a lot of traders out there who can trade very well but they can't teach. 

The same can be said to these forex academy.

Teaching is the skills. If he is a good trader doesn't mean he or she can teach. Teaching is about understanding people, been in love with people and what your teaching. Been in harmony with your students and understand what makes them tick. Teaching is about been an expert communication skills and that is different skills than trading. A very few people born with this talent but a lot of people need to go through courses to learn how to teach someone.  

Third make sure it is never for free. A good mentor knows how to value his or her knowledge and valuable information its never for free.(free is a new expensive)

 Free stuff on human brain is stored in GRANTED shelf. We take a lot of free stuff for granted and if we are not take it for granted it will take a lot of time to grasp the skills. But if we pay for it we engage our deliberate mind to what the mentor is teaching.

Final, a lot of traders think a good forex mentor must show you his live account(A college professor in Economics and Finance doesn't mean he is Warren Buffet). And we are all attracted to someone who can show us his six or seven figure trading account and we are so focused on profit than if that guy can teach or not. And trust me on this A LOT OF THEM CAN'T EVEN TRADE FOR THEMSELF. These so called gurus use this to attract traders but they can't teach or even trade.
